Mazda RX8, Engine Fault / Needs Repair.

Selling on behalf of a mate with no funds to repair :reallymad
Met grey with full black leather.
Car is good condition engine aside.
2004 \'54\' Mazda RX8.
65k miles with FSH.
192 BHP 5 speed model.
Starts / runs but has shaft bearing failiure (sounds like a knocking bottom end even though it doesn\'t have a bottom end)
It\'s HPI clear, has all hand books, keys etc.
£1250.

Yes matey, it\'s at our mates garage who initially thought it may have just been a water pump banging but upon further investigation / advice was advised it\'s a shaft bearing.

Now located at my unit at NP12 3SP, car is MOT\'d until May and i can tax at cost if you required the AA or RAC to tow it back :evillaugh

That\'s potentially a nice, cheap base for a rebuild project. Or, sadly, if it is broken for spares it ought to be worth more than £1250, surely...

It\'ll be worth more in parts but i\'ve only just finished breaking my RX7 and then i\'ve got a Nissan Stagea to do..........i wonder how hard it\'d be to drop the Stagea engine into the RX8 :Party

i know of a 2009 rx8 low milage sold for £3k ish (perfect working order)
i guess high tax band has killed rx8

Wow £3k ish is insane for a 2009 RX8, i can\'t understand why the \'powers that be\' think it\'s a good idea to tax newer cars so high?
 
I haven\'t picked up the Stagea yet but i\'ll let you know if there are any nice bits on it :driving

The Mazda 3 MPS is the same I want 1 but i refuse to pay the tax. When these high tax cars are 10 years old plus there gonna be free to collector!

They won\'t hold their value as they aren\'t a cult car like the FC or FD or a sought after classic like the FB or Cosmo

They\'re just another high depreciation modern car but their thirst and reliability makes it matters even worse

Is it still driveable or can u take it to region Herefordshire?

It is driveable but as the engine is technically still good i\'d say it\'s better to transport it rather than drive it. I can get it delivered to the Hereford for around £75 for you.
