Renault Fault reader

**yes i know this is not a renault forum but remember there was a renault mechanic / technition on here, nigel? martin? sorry forgot his name *

anyway, is it possible to pull fault code from a renault megan II (2004) by using a bulb connected to a test lead or connecting the test plugs so the engine light flashes the number of the fault code?

basically any other way of getting the fault code without an obdII.
