Blanking sunroof

I think it\'s that time, it doesn\'t work, it\'s rusty, it\'s time it went, I\'ve got a few sheets of ally, so I think I\'ll pop rivet a plate over the sunroof hole, I suppose a little weight loss is better than none. Anything I should be aware of?

i am getting a carbon cover made very soon, waiting on a price,

the thing is, I have limited resources and limited money, I have an idea that I\'d like to go through with, but I need to make sure I won\'t bugger anything up by pop riveting just around the sunroof hole (obviously checking for rust on the roof first).
