Honestly, Cyprus isn\'t as great as you\'d think. It\'s good for a holiday, but living here the only good thing is the weather. Like I know that\'s a big deal for us Brits, but when you weigh up the pro\'s and cons and the only thing you have on the pro\'s is \'the weather\' that\'s pretty bad.

  • Nice Food
  • Nice Scenery
  • Good Wine
  • A decent sized mountain
  • Beaches
  • Bikini clad babes
  • People driving on the left
  • 340 days of sunshine
  • Flamingos
  • Olives
  • Comondaria
I can think of a lot of worse places to be...

not forgetting halloumi and lountza, and the epic backwards trails going from coral bay north to the border then across to the troodos mountains, had great fun in our little suzuki jimny rental.

We rented a Nissan Micra when we went to Cyprus - drove it up the \'easy\' side of Troudos, then started to go down the other side - only to find they had dug up the road - we ended up \'off roading\' for about 2 miles before getting on some good tar mac and down the hairpins.  Have to say for a small runabout it coped really well with the big hill :Giggle

Haloumi - that cheese is just wierd - the wife loves it, it\'s ok, but I can never get used to that \'rubbery\' texture once it\'s grilled.

I quite like halloumi actually and I have to agree the troodos mountains are real drivers roads and there is some lovely views up there. I also agree with some of the other points, but the cost of loving here is huge, fine food over here is very steep, I don\'t drink wine and the bikini clad birds are only about 3 months a year. Rest of the time is miserable (but pretty nevertheless) Russian women.

I\'ve not seen any flamingoes although a few people have asked me about this, not sure where you\'d go to see them? All I\'ll say is if England had the weather it would probably beat Cyprus on nearly every point you\'ve mentioned. Biggest down sides to England are speed traps and crap weather, that\'s one thing Cyprus doesn\'t have much of - speed traps. You get the police with speed guns in the tourist area and on the motorway, but strangely enough on the real \'drivers roads\' they\'re nowhere to be seen.

Of course it makes no differebce anyway, I never speed and I\'m sure non of you guys do either :Giggle

When I had the Racing Beat fitted to the Turbo 2 my air pump was removed. Instructions say to remove it whilst installing the new exhaust. I didn\'t know this until the other day but RX8\'s have air pumps too.

I\'m going to be really cheeky... does anyone have a list of what parts I need, where to get them from and a guide to removal of the pump?

Here is a bit of a guide in doing the job. Not sure where you get the bits from as I got mine second hand on here. They are easy enough to make though once you take the bits off you can use them as a template to make your own blanking plates. Don\'t forget to get a dual alternator pulley too or it\'ll more than likely end up with a dead engine.

I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

So true. Easiest solution is wear mirrored sunglasses, preferably aviators then they can\'t tell your looking. Ever! Reminds me I must order a couple sets for my up coming holiday, gf will be :censored::censored::censored::censored:ed when she sees them again!!
