MOTs - 1st Gen - Emissions - a query

[Phranque]

Colin James, in "Rotary Ravings" - the news sheet of //www.rx-7club.org mentions that in the MOT:

"the Series 1 is exempt from emissions tests."

I have enquired on the forum there but have no replies to date, so......please does anyone have \'chapter and verse\' for this so that I can refer my Motty Man to the right page in his Merry Motty Manual?
They are a disbelieving lot round here.
Thanks folks,
Frank
