hello, im new to these forums and am thinking of buying a rx7 that i have seen. Is it correct that they can be labled as a 1.3? as i am young the insurance is not bad for a 1.3 but would be very high for a 2.5/6. i currently own a honda civic 1.5vtec and was looking at a rx7 for sale online, i searched up some insurance quotes and they were very good any help is great and hope to be posting more. thanks

I\'m sorry but regardless of what the log book says ALL insurance companies will class it as a group 20.

You say you\'re young, before you get too excited about he prospect of an RX7 ring round the insurance companies.

Sorry to dampen your enthusiasm but you will never get it insured as a 1.3

Read through the \'insuring your rotary\' thread - you\'ll see what I mean

If you\'ve found a reasonable insurer - let us know

Good luck

John
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

Was the car a jap import, as I know some are listed as 1.3s (which is the correct engine size), most insurance companies class the FC as a 2.4 and the FD a 2.6

No fd rx7 is a 1.3 for insurance, if you take this your insurance will be invalid no matter what the logbook may say.
There are performance cars and then there is the RX-7...........

12.3 second 1/4 mile, terminal speed of 122mph (1st ever drag run on a TO4R)

engine built by....... umm me! now powered by a T51 Kai......
