Hi Guys,
I\'ve been trawling the forum for a while now looking for bits and pieces for my FD RX-7. I spent a good year looking for a suitable car and considered importing a UK car but I would have had to pay VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax) to the tune of â,¬2000 euro or more to bring a car to the Emerald Isle so I settled for a local car.

Here is a pic of how she looks all cleaned up.

I bought this 95 RB based on the fact that it was pretty much stock with the exception of the later 99-spec rear wing and SSR wheels. The wheels are not what I would have purchased given the choice, but must admit they have grown on me and I do like them. They might get changed in future though.

Having previously owned another cracker of a Japanese car the old S30 Z (Datsun 240z), I knew that stock cars are usually the best way to go and then modify to suit your taste and style.

*The S30 is back in Australia at my parents place. The FD is my project over this side of the world ;)

Although with the FD there are several important modifications to be made to make them more reliable. So this FD has had the Apexi ECU fitted and silicon vacuum hoses. I plan to fit an Aluminium AST and upgrade the radiator to a more uprated unit at some point.

Any recommendations for an aftermarket radiator? Preferably something that mounts in stock position?

I\'ve also been trying to sort out the brakes which are a little spongy in feel. I purchased some stainless steel lines and I bought some parts off a fellow member here.

However for whatever reason the courier fudged up and the parts never arrived so it\'s been an ongoing saga trying to sort it out.

Which kinds of brings me to where I am now. I need a new set of brakes. I am wondering what people\'s experiences are with different parts available.

For example eBay has some EBC brakes, but how do they hold up on a track or under high stress? Has anyone experience with EBC? This kit seems like good value:

Another option I\'ve been looking at is the Racing Brake

Which is what I was originally looking for, but really I\'m just looking for opinions on other options / kits that offer a good upgrade over stock but are not too expensive?

Also where do people usually source their parts from? I\'m referring to OEM bits and pieces. I\'ve seen rhdjapan.com and that seems to be a good source, although some pieces are expensive.

Anyway that\'s all from me now.

Hey Neil,
Yeah I\'m not far off the M50 and was just on it today for a Cars and Coffee meet down in Cherrywood.

Met a couple of other local rotary owners today which was good. Always good to meet like minded individuals who are passionate about their rides.

I am hoping to visit the UK in summer and discover a bit of Scotland, Wales make my way down to Cornwall - perhaps even do a bit of surfing :).

Hello there!!

Lovely standard FD you got, have to say I was impressed with it when I saw it at the meet!

Do you know Kim at the Ducati Centre in Dublin?  Unless he has sold it, another FD owner.

Have you taken it round Mondello Park yet?  I love that place!!  Probably one of my favourite tracks when I was running the motorbike days.

Has Dublin cleared up some of the pot holes?  I remember leaving the port and almost losing the car into a cave!  You have the new tunnel too dont you?

If you need brakes...drop me a mail :)

I met Kim once and that was the very reason I started looking at 7\'s a couple of years ago!!

Was his one of the only 7\'s officially imported to ireland by mazda??
