Hi guys, curious to know what people are paying insurance wise..

i\'m 26, adrian flux have up\'d mine to £850 a year, with a handful of mods declared (filters, alloys, exhaust), 4000miles limited mileage.

am i getting raped? or is this about normal. I had hoped my premium would have dropped now i\'m not in the 17-25 age bracket...

how old is your car, as some decent insurers will do the car on a classic car policy and you can get it down to under £300!!!!

have you tried using the search function? there is a thread with a list of insurers to get cheap quotes from, also if you become a member of the club it could help you get cheaper insurance

hi there, 1994 M, liking the sound of that!

Depends on your licence, any penalty points? No Claims bonus? Car garaged? and where you live?
These make quite a difference.
Does sound a tad expensive though. I\'m paying the same as you with A/F with all mods declared (420bhp single turbo with all supporting mods)

Deffo shop around though. Most classic policies are happy with the limited mod\'s you\'ve got. I had no chance with mine :Giggle

RXSpeedy

Im also with A/F 26yrs old, 4 yrs no claims living in West London. My Rx has a t51 and supporting mods and im paying 1200fc on a 5000 milege. I tried all the insurers in the insurance section here and Flux beat the nearest one by £200

29y/o, 400bhp ish single, lots of mods to pretty much everything except subtle exterior, garaged, niceish area of midlands town, parked on driveway, 3k/year, no claims/points/anything, £350. It\'s a second car though.
That\'s through REIS.

jackaleks

25, no points, no claims.

i\'ve got two cars with Sky. FD is on £700 tpft, 3k miles and a Micra on £400 tpft no mileage limit, mirrored no claims on both. that was the cheapest i could find for insuring two cars.

oh, FD has enough mods on twins to put out 320bhp.

Got mine on a Classic policy with Peter Best limited to 3000 miles all mods declared.

Single Turbo GT35R with all the supporting mods

comes in at £350 this year (suspect it will go up next year, in line with everything else!)

Oh I\'m 33, no points (touch wood) and full no claims (touch wood again).

Dont you have to be over 25 to be considered for a Classic Car policy?

I\'m also 26. 1992 FD3 set my mileage to 6000 a year. Doubt I will do that but just in case I want to. Got 3 points on my license for miss timing a red light a couple of years ago. All my mods are declared though no really major ones. Also have a subaru impreza turbo wrx. 04 plate. and have nearly 9 years protected no claims bonus on that. I\'m with sky who being that they are a broker put me with a company called markerstudy. they also made me aware that no claims bonus can only count on one car at a time so left it on the subaru. and also officially you can Not get classic car insurance on a modified jap import. but I\'m happy with the deal I got anyways. £850 fully comp. and currently have the subaru with elephant paying over £1400 but sky said when that runs out let them know and they will also do that for £850 for me :)

btw how do you guys get such cheap quotes from Adrian Flux? I have always found them the most exspensive I could possibly find anywhere. No matter what I told em be it the Subaru Or the RX7 Mods or no Mods. Points or no points etc etc. They always want 5 grand out of me. Then I just tell em "No I dont wish to take out shares in your company, I simply want to insure my car. Goodbye" lol

We assumed the same till we gave them a call, having said that we started with them 3yrs ago and I know now then won\'t qoute for any under 25\'s. So then have changed their requirements. Can\'t recommend them enough, have been nothing but awesome.

Not 100% on your point about classic policy insurance NOT covering modified Jap imports as many of us on here and also FDUK have classic policies as our insurance company, and I\'m pretty sure the insurance under-writers would kick up a fuss if you were correct ???
