I am refurbishing the rear calipers on the fb, and I have run onto a probelm it seems.
The new brake pistons I have received, don\'t look as if they will screw onto the caliper?
As there is no screw thread in the new ones.
The old one is on the left and new on the right, but you probably guessed that
If anybody can tell me if I can fix this, or need to send them back, many thanks.

they should have threads in them like this...

both series 3 and series 2 caliper pistons are identical and are interchangeable

Thanks for replying.

The one taken off is identical to the pictures you have posted. The new one\'s outer shape is identical to the old one, but the inside is totally different (no screw thread, or any way to adapt).
I don\'t think there is any way I am going to be able to use these new ones, sending them back.
Thanks again.

Hi Cubics, Welcome. I\'d really like to include you on my 1st Gen Register if you don\'t mind.
The only FB we have noted down in Ipswich was a Red Series 2 breaking in Whip St Motors last year. Yours will most likely be Series 3 though (from 1984).

If you don\'t want to post up your Reg my email is dgnock at btopenworld dot com
No obligation though, we\'re all just here to help and get good deals for each other.
