Whilst i take my car off the road for a rebuild i wish to do the following,

Engine is standard apart from Arc induction and After market intercooler (can\'t remember make)

Get a street port.

Get a mappable ecu and controller. going to go for an Apex i as i\'m told this is the best for my requirements.

Get rid of the cat and put in a midpipe and new rear box.

Get a new induction kit as mine is currently ARC and suseptable to lots of heat soak. Was thinking apex i.

Engine wise this is about it i think.

Question time

Am i missing anything?

Midpipe and back box what do i go for, taking into account the above, i dont want something to noisy, and i want to keep the twin tailpipe as i am not a liker of the single large pipe. If you have twins at the back can you posty pics and make please?

Will the apex i induction be suitable for what i have planned.

Sorry for all the questions but if i intend to spend all this money i do not want to get it wrong!!

During this time i will be removing my interior and redoing it, and after the engine work is complete i will be getting a respray. Hopefully by the end of summer i will have a shiny new toy! just in time for the wet roads

Regards and thankyou for your responses in advance (unless yer nasty! )

Go for a racing beat twin exhaust - one of the quietest around. I hear WGT do a quiet mid pipe.

Overall plan looks good - watch the fuelling though if it\'s a FMIC you have along with your other mods - but then the mapping should tell you how close your are to the stock fuelling limits.

Apexi filters seem popular but do lack heat shielding.

Wastegate enlargment.

Sounds painfull!

Seriously though, for what reason? and is it necessary.

Injectors are a must as i have been told mine at least need cleaned so will probably replace anyway...

one of the reason for having y\'wastegate enlarged is it allows more boost out when fully opened.  One of the problems with upping boost and getting more air through the engine is the boost creep that comes with it - as the extra boost cannot escape.  Theory goes, enlarging the wastegate will reduce this boost creep, and it\'s normally a bastid to get to - unless your engine is not in the car...!!

Something i can do myself or is it best left to the professional?

I think //www.scuderiacirinai.com/rx7 has instructions on doing this - but can one of the knowledge guys advise on this?  I\'ve not done it, but have heard it\'s a good thing to do...

Yes wastegate enlarging is good idea, you need to get a suitable machine shop to do it for you. i can have it done if needed.
When i do rebuilds, a new fuel filter is always put on also the rest of the stuff, including plugs, coolant etc, etc. Be careful though because a lot of places will not do these, they will reuse your old plugs and not change your fuel filter.
I would also go for new vacuum hoses and definetly a street port.
