right guys so basically i was given a 3"inch decat when i bought my rx7 as the previous owner said it was too loud when fitted so resorted back to the cat.

the car is a 1995 rx7 running non seq turbos on apexi power FC, it has a cat-back titanium exhaust with hks mushroom filters, the car has been remapped to suit the modifications present but im not sure whether this was including the decat? just wanting to know whether it would be safe putting the decat on without any hiccups in running lean etc.

in regards to fitting the decat can you guys give me some info on how to remove the air pump and what to do with whats left over

thanks for your help guys

Plenty of guides on here for removing the air pump, get your search on ;)
You\'ll be wanting a blanking kit if you\'re doing it properly - contact Danny @ DM Motorsport ( trader on here )
Do you have a commander with the Apexi ? If so, what sort of injector duty and boost do you see when having fun?
Mine is a similar spec to yours, I had a decat but swapped to a silenced midpipe and it\'s still FDUKin loud! ;)
I have uprated downpipe, silenced midpipe, Apexi N1 ExTi cat back... v free flowing / loud but sounds AMAZING on boost!!! ;)
non-seq twins too..... mine creeps / spikes to around  1 bar! So have to be careful and really need to get my new injectors, pumps and fuel reg fitted! ;)
So, to summarise, be careful! If you\'re hitting 90 % inj duty now ..... you\'ll be wanting to be careful and prob get a re-map after fitting a decat! Might have to knock the boost down a touch! :yes

ahh i see, ok ill search on the air pump,
yep i have the commander with with PFC its mapped on standard boost 0.6 bar at the minute on full boost, not sure about the injector duty as i havnt checked.
its pretty loud with the cat but id like to improve power slightly and seeing as i got given the decat with the car thought about fitting it.

i was planning on fitting the decat when i have my custom FMIC, fuel pump downpipe and injectors with the remap, but that wont be happening until next year when it comes off the road.

Just found out the car was mapped with the decat not fitted, so is this likely to cause problems if i do decide to install it?

yep, quite likely to cause boost issues, not worth doing... best wait till you get all the other bits fitted too ;)
