Hi all,

After looking at steelies I might now just go with the option of running either OEM rims (16x7s) or I might look at getting some FD rims and running a spacer on the front (FC3S PRO says I require a 20mm spacer on the front which I have) I believe the OEM FD rims are 16x8 so that will give me a bit of extra rubber :)

Basically I am just wondering what sort of power each of the width tyres can handle on just standard street rubber - although I am eyeing up Lee\'s drag radials on FD rims.

How much power can a 205/55/16 take vs a 225/50/16?

Are there any high power FDs running their OEM rims?

Its all down to what tyre you choose as to what speed rating there good for.
I think youll find that most of the drag racing guys run oem wheels with drag tyres on HTH

m1tch

What power is your car at then? Think I saw dragon\'s car running on FD OEMs :)

Don\'t think I will get this far though:

Ah ok, so probably about the same as I will be running with the T88 then :)

How much were your drag tyres new btw? Where did you get them from?

lee mills

They came from the states and were about £350 just for the tyres

m1tch

Hmmm would R888s work the same? Im not really 1 for burnouts due to not having line lock lol

Ada7

I dont have a line lock either, would this be a problem with your tyres Lee?

You dont need a line lock to do a burnout lol it does help but isnt neccessary. You do need to warm the tyres to get the best out of them.

R888 tyres are not designed for drag racing and therefore arent as good for the purpose intended.

This is true, I think I am going to go down the FD rims on an FC route, saw a set of the Efini FD rims for £90 lol

lee mills

Got another pair of fd wheels you could have for £50 if you want:Thumbsup!

Haha :P I need to sell my 17" OZ Pegasus rims first lol will see, 16x6 rims that are a direct fit are gooood lol cheaper than getting a set of Rotas, my car is all go and no show, probably just spray them black or something, \'low maintanence finish\' hehe

Do a rolling burnout (no different than a wheelspin):Thumbs-up
