I can hear a rattling noise coming from the engine, sounds like its coming from the housings which worries me a bit. Any ideas what it could be? Has the car rebuilt about 3000 miles ago but it\'s too far for me to take it just to check out a noise. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Sure it\'s not an exhaust leak? They can sound very rattly.

If you are running twin plate clutch, rattling sound is bound to come.

Only with your foot on the pedal - if it does it when the pedal is up that\'s generally not a good thing. Unless it\'s the gearbox input shaft bearing, which can happily rattle away for a good while with no ill effects!

I had a new clutch put in the same time I had the rebuild. I\'m gonna take it up to Hayward next week, It is quite a worrying noise but i\'m sure Carl will find the problem, thanks for all the help. I will let you know what the problem was when it gets sorted (hopefully) :wiggle

Could just be a heatshield that has come slightly lose
