bit :2Mad as they just take the money out of your card / account you previously paid with without prior warning.

I had this with another company, shopped around and found a better deal elsewhere but forgot about the auto-renewal and was charged twice :2Mad.  Fortunately the original insurer processed a refund quickly when I told them.

Same here, they did it to me despite me calling and saying I would not be renewing. I\'m still chasing them now for the £300 they owe me- four years and they won\'t give it back!

Adrian Flux? Total waste of space, and nothing more than theives.

yes they sms me, which i got this morning... rang them up and they said they took the money out last monday.

might as well kick me in the gonads and send me a sms saying "we bent you over last nigh but were kind enough to use vasline :chat"

:Hammer

if i was driving the car maybe i wouldnt mind so much but paying for 3000 miles cover on the policy and just covering 30 miles per year for 2 years takes the .... a bit.
ok not insurance company fault but didnt need to know about the auto renewal

You should be able to claim in back via your card issuer if you didn\'t authorise it.

I bet it is but if they didn\'t have your specific authorisation for that transaction you should be able to claim it back. Credit cards especially do have a lot of protection so worth a try - I hope you get it sorted.

called up a few places today...

i feel like im 18 again! silly quotes from the usual places, thats IF they would insure me!
sky insurance couldnt get below £550, Aviva originally said £420 then after a bit of sweet talking they said £385 until i asked them about mods then they replied me they wont insure me.

So i guess i\'m sticking with Adrian Fux.

Thanks for the help / comments peeps :)

Happened with me too, had the auto renewal palaver. Worst thing is my DD is an old Merc E300 estate and that still costs £600 with full no claims. And they were the cheapest!
