rear seat belts

hi i have just bought a 1984 rx-7 and will be using it daily just wanted to know
a: if the rear lap belt is legal to be used with a booster seat?
& b: if there is a modification available to use a normal seat belt or could i bolt a harness onto the back of the rear seats:confused:

Hi Rob and welcome.

You might have stumped us with your 1st question. These cars are mainly getting restored now for more power and better handling or just maintained by ancient street poseurs like me. You mean Children\'s Booster Seats? Search for \'Booster\' and you\'ll get \'Turbo Boost\' answers gallore, but I doubt any for Booster Seats.

Anyway, my guess is absolutely no to attaching to the back of the rear seats because they fold down with just the simplest of catches.....designed well before elf and safety caught on I suspect....It\'s only a guess Rob, nothing more.

Now, back in the mists of time, I got my first 1st Gen RX7 from my gaffer. He had a 5 year old at that time. I seem to remember a Kangol sort of webbing harness attached via the back floor somehow. Never used it or took much notice - sorry.

There are about a dozen of us now, keen posters with 1st Gens. If you want to join us you\'re more than welcome. We generally post everything at each other totally in the \'1st Generation\' section, whether we should or shouldn\'t.....(we\'re above the normal forum rules, being Godlike creatures with 1st Gens). So anyway, try us with a simpler Question next time.

The price for admission? Oh Yes.....(Everyone Groans....\'He\'re He Goes Again\'!). I would really appreciate the Reg of your car Rob, for my 1st Gen Register. 256 complete cars at the moment (scrappers not included).

There was Stu G\'s White one went to York from Staffs recently but that\'s an \'85 car.
