its sep 95 yer the plugs are yellow also will it fail mot if i replace the standard cat with a straight through pipe?

Jit

FDs generally fail emissions anyway regardless of whether you have a cat or not. Your cat would have to be in very good nick and your engine running absolutely spot on for it not to fail on emissions. Just make sure they do the non cat test

a.tapos

Ok that sounds like the one.
it will generally fail without a cat though i have heard of them being tuned through its normally easier to keep the old cat for mots as some rx7s dont want to pass even with a cat.

OoOoOo.... btw you can you guys tell he how to get the clocks out please?

Jit

clocks are easy enough although you have to be careful not to break the top dome as you do it. First remove the steering column surround (3 screws on the underside), then there is a screw on the bottom of the speedo surround that needs to come out. Then you need to grip the speedo surround and yank it horizontally outwards towards the back of the car and hope it doesn\'t break. Then there is the electrical connector for the cigarette lighter and the pop up light switch as well as 4 connectors for the clocks and then you should be able to manouvre the assembly out. You should be able to change the bulbs with the cluster still attached to the surrounds

so there is only 4 screws altogether because i tried this morning but it dont seem to wanna come out

Jit

Actually, you might need to remove the lower trim piece below the speedo surround (the one with the air vent) to get to another screw. Youll need to remove the trim piece on the side of the dash first - that just pulls off. Then theres one screw on that side and then another one screw holding the lower piece on at the front. THen behind that vent piece theres on more screw - i think :S

For a \'92 - \'95 car f you can get your hands on it either the original APexi release (serial number starts FD3S1) or more likely the newer one (serial number FD3S4) seeing as the originals are discontinued.
