I am obviously Jim. I am 20 years, from Norway. Since the Vikings went bankrupt, I will continue the raid of Britain, on these forums :)

I got an RX7 FC3C (that is Cab) S4, N/A converted to Turbo II. USDM actually.

I came here because of a phone call with Clive, which adviced me to direct all wanted/for sale questions here, as well as regular "WTF is this thing"-questions :)

My project with my S4 is this:
Get it roadworthy (by Norwegian law, it is by US law)
Get new instrument cluster
Get FMIC and weld the hood scoop shut
Get fog lights (I got an S4, might be some issues there, but hell, we\'ll find a way)
Get rid of the marks after the 626-spoiler which was mounted on the car when I got it.
Get new doorpanels from S5 (the S4 ones are ugly, and doesn\'t fit the color of my Honda Prelude seats)
Get carputer in it to run GPS, audio, video, internet, phone, whatever.
Get S5 tail lights
Get new cab. Mine got big rifts @ the water funnel things on the sides.

If you feel you can help out on any of the points above, please email me: jimtore2k (at) gmail (dot) com

As for me and my other cars, I started out with the drivers lisence in june 2008. Before July was even started, I drove from my homeplace to Oslo (that is 1500km) and back (another 1500km) all alone.

In August I got hold of a seemingly nice VW Passat 1.8T, chipped up to 196hk. The oilpump was blasted, and ate the turbo on the trip home.

So the car was put in a garage for winter storing, and I found myself a Peugeot 605 2.0T. That car was abused heavily. But it still runs, and works, with my older brother as owner. Almost died once in that car lol:burnout

Then, in February, as I mentioned, I sold the Peugeot to my brother. I used some of the money to fix the Passat up, new turbo, and new oil pump.

By march, the car broke down again, this time the water pump. I got this done in a workshop, with the timing belt, as I wasn\'t sure when it was swapped last time.

In May, my headgasket started to fail, little by little. It missed out my graduation celebration (1-17th May, wikipedia.org: Russ), so my fathers Corolla was the car to use :)

In June, after some small very necessary driving, I found out I needed to get the cara fixed. I put it in my garage, started disassembling the engine.

The cylinder head was not 100% flat (dunno the term), so a boat workshop was needed. 2 months queue on the milling machine thing.

So the car was stuck in my garage, my grandmother never got to see me that summer. By the start of august, I got the head back, perfectly flat. I put everything back together, and used the car till October. Then I had the Road Worthiness test to worry about. In December, I got it through, after my cat (as in the exhaust, not A cat) went dead.

In February, I got the Passat sold. I was happy and sad in the same time, I had some great moments in that car. It was a love/hate relationship.

One week later, I was the proud owner of a RX7 Cabriolet. The car was in okay condition, it had been stored in a garage for three years, so it wasn\'t too bad atleast. Something to work on still.

The plus-cable on the alternator got a really weird contact there, and it was broken, so I had to get a new one, with the car starting and stopping when it felt so.

When that was done, I ruined the center console. Long story short:
I fixed the center console, changed the seats (which was in terrible condition, you could see a 130kg man had used the car), some of the vents for the A/C, and the interior was partly done.

I put a RacingBeat exhaust muffler in, and just need to fix the presilencer and then the Roadworthiness test (again, terms..) is ready to be engaged :D

Welcome mate, fair play for having a cab in your climate!

jimmydanny

Hehe, in the winter it is actually insulated enough to keep warm pretty easily. And in the summer it gets up to 20-30 degrees Celcius in the shadow sometimes. So there are no problems having a Cab here :)

CHC (RIP)

Welcome Jimmy to the best rotary club forum.  Sure you\'ll pick up the information to find the parts you need and spend many happy hours working on and driving your cab (start them young I say).

Got my car up on ramps today, so tomorrow will be dedicated to fixing my exhaust :) And the hood is off, which gives my better access to the engine.

Is there any easy way to make the intake manifold a bit more shinier? Like the piping many is using for FMIC. Mine is the original cast dull finish.
