Steve will be looking for more power now then, the standard 1st gen is a bit pedestrian...

With the mechanical secondaries and free flowing exhaust she\'s entertaining enough to be getting on with for a little bit. :)

The chassis is now too good to be unsettled by the power though, so yeah more power is on the list! Still time to save a bit of cash and just do some miles for now :)

I feel a bit lost now, like when you finish school and go out into the big bad world for the first time. What do I do with myself now the car works!

I sorted the fuel gauge and cigarette lighter this evening. Think I\'ve done 27mpg so far, with the buzzer going off a plenty so thats good!

I suppose I\'ll give my Alfa some TLC before I sell her, but what then!

steve you can find me an fb lol.
seriously, just enjoy the car and sit back and relax for a few days.
but i know what you mean, all you can do now is look into getting a bit more power out of her :)

27mpg is very good. i got that today going to work, seems more miles go on a rotary the more fuel efficient it becomes.

I\'ve never seen 27mpg in a 1st gen of any description!  with mechanical secondaries, I\'d have thought 17mpg would be a result.

I was pretty shocked too!

While the fuel gauge wasn\'t working I was filling the tank up as if I was doing 15 mpg, putting 30L then doing 100 miles, then putting another 30L in. On the third fill I couldn\'t put 30L in.

I filled: 10L, 30L, 30L then could only fit 20L in. So thats 90L. According to Haynes its a 55L tank, so if the tank was full I\'d have used 35L, lets call it 40 to take up a little margin for error. 40L is 8.8 gallons.

I\'d done 250 miles since the MOT, thats 28 mpg :S

Since that full tank I\'ve got the gauge working and I\'ve done 220 miles and I\'ve got between 1/2 and 1/3 of a tank left!

I thought it had a 14 gallon tank?

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

"Eat it with a chopstick!"

Haynes says its 55l so thats 12.2 imperial gallons and 14.5 US gallons.

That 27 mpg was based on imperial gallons, would be 24mpg in US gallons. I presumed being in good old England we\'d be talking in real gallons :P

Well Done Steve!

An absolute credit to your mastery of the black art of Resto and your determination to always see things through. Those winter pics last year were fantastic.
