Hi All,

i know there are several posts on this and I have read through some of them....

I have the original Bose stereo in my FD3 and want to fit my new HU - just to confirm, do I just need an ISO adapter, like the one below?

Thanks,

All that is is an ISO extension lead basically. I\'m not familiar what plug is on the loom of an FD but if it is ISO then you should be able to plug straight in. If not you\'ll need the corresponding conversion lead to save any nasty joints as some people just cut the loom plug off and go all agricultural about it.

As a side note some brands of head unit differ in which colour core is permanant feed and which is switched. Generally they are yellow and red but some manufacturers seem  to have red as permanent where as some others are yellow. Luckily the normally have a bullet connector on each feed so you can swap them to suit.

Right thanks, I bought the blocks anyway and it\'s all connected up but no Power, I haven\'t earthed it yet and the fuse in the stereo appears to be fine as is the one in the car... NO POWER..... any idea people?

Do you have a multimeter? The negative on the ISO of the loom should already be earthed but you\'ll have to verify it with a meter. Start by testing at the ISO plug then if no joy ground out one of the leads on a door bolt or something. If you then get voltage this proves the ground to the ISO is bad.

Right I\'ve earthed the unit and I now have power!! Only problem is there  is no sound!! Any ideas?

Everything apart from the little white connector (don\'t think it\'s to do  with the speakers, only aerial) on the aerial plug which I removed from  inside the original Bose stereo is plugged in... I\'m Confused!!

Is there an amp on the BOSE OEM system?
