Hi guys,  just failed my mot on a wheel bearing, it the nearside front one, what should i do??? get a new hub? or get some new bearing? Don\'t know what to do as a new hub costs £300 quid!!!
 Any advices????

Well can\'t you just get some new bearings pressed in? I did my rear one, but only mazda could suppply me with the bearing (is for a third gen and has one massive double outer race) however it is much cheaper than a whole new hub. I think the the front 2nd gens use two seperate bearings so these individual ones could be sourced from a local bearing supplier for much less cost than mazda.

I know that someone oin here got their front bearings for a 1st gen from this place

Vintage bearings

However you\'ll have to press the old ones out first to determine the size and the index numbers pressed on to the side of the casings.

Another alternative would be to get a 2nd hand front hub, Tim at RX motors should be able to supply you woth one for about £60-£70 i\'d imagine.

Hope this helps, Paul:)

I paid £99 plus VAT from Mazda for a rear FD wheel bearing:mad:, butfitted it and pressed it in myself so didn\'t work too bad in the end.
