Electric fan

Hi guys

For those of you using aftermarket electric fans, what should i use? What should i steer clear of? Ive seen some on ebay with good statistics, but theyre so cheap at £30, bargain or ....e ?

i may be in the market for a new efan, anyone have any info on this at all?

The ebay ones certainly seem to be good on air flow, just not sure about wiring - as I\'ve had one 16" fan that died due to a wiring fault (short).

Us 1st gen fellas use MR2 fans-they work a treat and have shrouds. They are a perfect fit on a 1st gen rad so might be worth a look.

I used a Volvo V6 fan from an old 240... IIRC - fits inside the FC shroud nicely

Mine is off an american car and fills the rad quite nicely with a small shroud. I have an aftermarket fan controller which controlls totally the operation via presets or if i was clever enough via my temps set in the ECU but thats another task yet to do. Think the car was a Ford Taurus. The important thing is to get some good volts going to it as some fans draw 30 Amps and more during inital startup.

I\'m using grom VW GOLF 3 2.9 VR6
 
it\'s twin fan one motor and belt. Woked fine, until figure out
that conected to + it heat itself as shorting, no fuse live for long still looking for solution, might connecet directly to battery via temp sensor.
