Was out for a drive today and noticed a distinct change in the feeling of the clutch peddle and change in the bite-point.

Bite is now half-way down to the carpet, was very near the top of the travel before and feels kinda sticky on release.  Seemed to get a bit back to normal as I headed home but not quite back to normal.

What possible issues am I looking at?

Checked fluid levels and they\'re topped up with no sign of a leak.

First thing to check is put the car in first sit stationary and if the car starts to drive away by itself this is because the master cylinder is losing pressure due to the seals failing internally,

If not it could be clutch wear so look under the dash, behind the clutch pedal where you will see a rod going into the back of the master cylinder with a lock nut on the rod,

Undo the locknut and lengthen the rod so you have 6 to 8 mm of free play at the top of the pedal.

Hope this helps

Clive - it was pretty sudden - was ok, 20 miles on the motorway later and it was feeling \'odd\'.  I\'ll have a look at it and probably get some expert opinion on Tuesday.

I\'d guess slave cylinder seals - that\'s what went on mine.  I just bought the rebuild kits and did master & slave at the same time- couldn\'t be easier.
