I\'m looking to get a compressor and am clueless as to exactly what i need. I\'m hoping to use one for little bits of spraying, as an impact wrench, grinding and poss sandblasting. Is all that posible and if so what would be the best type of compressor to get and what tools should i be looking for?
Thanks  :Thumbsup!

The one, in my experience, which will place by far the most demand on the compressor is the shot blasting.  I have only 2.5hp with a 100 liter tank.  This is fine for impact wrench & spraying.  I use it for the shot blasting but have to wait for the compressor to keep building up the pressure as the blaster uses it so quick.  I can live with this cause I managed to get a new one for £79, but wish it was 3.5hp.

I would reccomend 100l tank (not 50l and definately not 25l!) and go for as much hp as you can sensibly afford.  Check the flow rates of the shot blasting gun against what the compressor can output.

Cheers for the advise dude. Been having a good old root around online and found that checking the flow rate (CFM) of the tools I plan to use against the compressor is the best thing to do.

To be honest I\'m only really going to be using it as an impact wrench, sprayer and poss as a grinder. Shot blasting was a thought but after looking into suitable compressors i\'ve changed my mind.

Does anyone have any recomendations for makes of compressors or suppliers? I\'ve checked out B&Q but after reading some reviews, the Rockworth compressors they sell dont seem to be much cop.
