Get down to your local stealer sorry dealer as this is a common issue on the RX8 and they should be changed under the warranty although normally it\'s flaking around the centre caps that\'s the issue I know of a few people who have had at least 3 sets of replacement wheels under warranty.

Are these only changed under warranty only or is it a known manufacturing fault that they will sort out as and when.

Will66

I think it\'s only under warranty although it\'s worth asking a decent dealer.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

will do, going to give a few a ring today to find out. hopefully will have some good news soon, will keep yous informed!

I would suggest you get them refurbished. There\'s not really much point going into a dealer and getting them changed again and again. This affects mazda 3 and 6 of the same generation too I\'ve noticed. good luck

I was getting the polished chrome alloys replaced outside of warranty on my old S1 as they were corroding very badly after each Winter with big chunks of lacquer flaking off. But that\'s very unusual - contacts and a very good dealer!

Fortunately the R3 alloys aren\'t so bad but I\'m not expecting to get them replaced once I\'m outside warranty so I\'ll look for a refurb. They are looking OK for two and a half years so I\'ll get them changed at the third service and they should be OK for a few more years.
