Been reading and reading up trying to get a mates car started for over a week now but left it today still without any joy so thought i ask anyway just incase we missing something simple.
firstly:
Its been stood for 7 months
the intake air temp sensor wire has broken off causing the pfc reading to show ---
its a street ported fd rebuilt about 3k ago running non sequential with all supporting mods.
Had fresh plugs, fuel and battery etc.
Ok it cranks and on occasion tried to fire but that as far as we have got this is with accel flat to the floor, the plugs were not damp but could be now as we have been trying to start it a bit more now.
The thing is though when we are cranking it it emits a huge backfire scaring the daylights out of us and passers by.
tow starting it is out of the question atm because of the body work etc If it hops when starting the bumper/wings/skirts will be left on the road.
Suggestions or advice is very welcome before it gets towed to a specialist.

I would say fix the air temp sensor first. The map may be pumping loads of fuel in thinking the air is a crazy temp.

As Shaun says mend the wire first, next up make sure the leads are on the right way round and then if if still won\'t go, pull the plugs again and see if the plugs are sopping wet with fuel, meaning the engine is flooded.

Hope this helps
All the best Clive

Use a bit of wood to hold the choke butterflys open to allow better airflow
