rx8 gearbox to rx7

I am in the process of fitting and rx8 gearbox into rx7 anyone know what starter motor to use :Hammerrx7 one dont quite fit or do i have to adapt it to fit anyone know?

RX8 starter - you want the later generation as well as it spins faster.

From what I remember the box will fit straight in but you need an FC clutch because you willl now have a push type clutch, a new hole for the gear leaver, prop sorting out and an RX-8 oil filter housing,

We are doing a conversion at the moment, for an Rx8 box into an FB....the propshaft needed shortening for that.
 
The other issue is the gear stick is in a different place.  And as clive said the clutch is now a push instead of a pull.

I got the impression the OP had done most of the conversion? If not, you also need to look at the PPF. Can\'t remember if the slave and pushrod need addressing as well.

I may be wrong but Dont you need to refab the pp frame as well.

i always herd the rx8 tranny wasnt as strong has the fc or fd.. has anybody used these with good power with out any problems?

yes Chris Impeys drag car ran plenty of 9.2-9.2s quarters on a Rx8 box before going solid rear and lenco box.
A few UK Street FDs with 500hp here are running ok on rx8 boxes at the moment

very good numbers. ill have to look into it more maby would throw one in on my second t2 and see how it goes. iv always wanted to but never found a good write up on it but herd they were weeker units.. thanks for the fast responce
