hello since fitting the front mount i have had a bit of a missfire but its getting worse i had to move one coil pack when fiting it but i cant see that being the problem

also now when on the overrun its popping and spitting flames it never did it before either

i thought i had a bad eatrh after moving the battery to the boot but have added extra earths and its made no difference

any ideas?

When did you change the plugs? What ECU are you running? When did you change the HT leads?

the hat

its got 10mm magnecor leads plugs were changed recently hence my thraed asking about them as thought this might be the issue

and its running a 4 beat ecu

m1tch

What fuel do you have in it at the moment?

the hat

well thats what i thought might be an issue so i put v power in with a drop of millers octane booster and a tiny drop of two stroke i have always suspected the tps to be set up wrong due to the strange figures on my avcr

does any one have a step by step guide setting it up

thats the thing mitch i have no problems with the boost controller as i fitted it when i first got the car and have no problems since i might go back and connect up the injector duty wire and see how there getting on incasae the standard injectors just are t coping anymore

m1tch

What are you boosting to? I have a knightsports 4beat chipped ECU, I have only dared run it to 0.8bar as the duty cycle on the injector was going above 90% (92% is maxxed/dumping half load) on the e-manage readout, which is why I am upgrading the secondaries so I don\'t damage the engine lol

The popping and banging could be caused by the car running rich after it has run lean and caused higher EGTs, do you have a wideband O2 sensor at all?

the hat

well i went out in it tonight and found that the exhaust is now acting like a flame thrower ill connect up the injector duty on the avcr and see what im making fingers crossed its sometimes spiking to a bar boost wise now the intercooler is fitted so i think you could be right on the money will see if i can port even the slightest bit more metal from the wastgate penny on the turbo

does anyone know if you get a stainless manifold with external wastegate flange that supports the standard turbo i know its rough but i cant think what else to try as im happy with the power its got will easy spin the rears in 3rd if provoked so plenty of power for drifting

you still got that manifold mitch i might have a plan lol

Prof

Aftermarket manifolds don\'t fit the stock exhaust turbine.

There are several options:

1)   Port the wastegate holes as much as you can - I\'ve seen people replace the flappers with larger ones so they can get more metal out of the holes behind - but there is a limit ;)

2)   Use a spacer or a bellmouth on the back of the turbo to give more flapper opening and better exhaust mixing

3)   Remove the internal wastegate flapper, port the holes as big as you can go, and make a flange on the back of the turbo to take an external wastegate - There is a thread on RX7Club where someone has done this - and placed a divider in the turbine housing to seperate the flows.

Useful links here too:

BTW - if you\'ve got a series 4 manifold it has smaller exhaust holes - If that\'s what you\'ve got then try and find a S5 manifold.

my cunning plan involves my freind making an adaptor and the i can have a external wastegate running along side the standard turbo if required

the hat

no need for lans the car has miraculously fixed itself im back to running 0.76 bar boost and its driving okish found my tps is faulty by doing he checks as described in fc3spro so will try adjusting that as described but i think i will go see my old work (mazda) for a new one
