I reckon i\'m gonna need new brakes - pads and discs all round at some point soon. Can anyone recommend some? My FD is only around 300hp at most and i\'m not doing track days, don\'t drive it like a complete lunatic if that helps - i just need it to stop!

Timmy

Just get your discs skimmed or replaced and ferodo ds2500 pads. Stock brakes are surpossed to be damn good.

If you want a quote on DS2500\'s I have both fronts and rear in stock

Give me a call :)

DS2500\'s are great pads for fast road and a few track laps - I got mine from Dan @ dbpower.co.uk. Good prices and excellent service.

Kinda similar to me. I\'m running 307fwhp.

A couple of months back I got a deal from martin (Speedline Imports) on here for all four discs for £250. I dunno if he is still doing it but look in the vendor section for details. Although they were unbranded discs I got grooved and drilled ones.

I coupled them with Hawk HPS pads from Clive @ mazdarotaryparts for £170. Throw in the braided hoses I got off another forum and I was happy.

She now stops as though someones dropped an anchor!!

ps: sorry Atomic - not trying to wean customers somewhere else, just my opinion as power is in the same ballpark!! :D

I\'m at 310 fwhp, and I destroyed my pads and discs on a track day last year. Replaced with grooved discs from Speedline Imports, and the Hawk track day combination pads from MRP. Haven\'t taken it on track to look at fade resistance yet but it stops very well indeed on the road.

The Hawk pads are very good...and it is horses for courses.....what works for one person doesnt necessarily work for another.

I personally love
the feel they give
they dont produce much pad dust
they dont glaze
they wear evenly
a Set of 3000\'s lasted 2 seasons of racing!  So although expensive....they are very hard wearing!

Spot on matey!! I suppose it\'s also down to how much abuse you\'re going to give them! ;)

Very happy with HP+ on standard discs.  When they\'re eaten I\'ll probably move to some grooved discs, but can\'t see me changing pads.

Cool cool bud and thanks for the response - might just go with the pads to start with.... as an interim before taking the plunge with alcon or the like ;)

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I\'m actually waiting on a price fitted from a japanese specialist local to me that i use as i\'m not really up to the task of doing the brakes myself, but the first pads they recommended were the DS2500\'s!

I did a quick how-to guide on here, it\'s really not that hard to do mate. Most difficult bit is getting the discs off if they\'ve rusted on!!
