to be fair weight will help a little bit but its more aero and power that make the most difference.

weight doesnt make hardly any difference for example on nardi, weight just helps with accelaration.

alot of cars at bonnieville actually add weight to the car to keep it stable at high speed

the noble wont hit 225mph at brunters, thats its maximum speed, it will probably hit 200mph though.

a ferrari 599 which has 612bhp and weighs 1690kg and that hit 198mph at brunters

ill imagine that since an fc can hit 220mph with 650bhp then so can my car, not that im saying it can be done at brunters but if the car was stable at nardi then with 700bhp i think 220mph could be hit with the right gearing

DR SCHNITZEL

Its all about the gears then. aero you already have. weight maybe an issue.

good thread i was just speaking to steve about his engine build and he seems like he knows what his on about, maybe ill get him to build my engine aswell.

i think any weight reduction wont hurt at the end of the day but since ill already be carrying alot of speed onto the main straight it will be less of a factor, i think the car might end up slightly heavier than a stock car, it weighs 1220kg now with running on fumes.

I think the intercooler, rad(extra coolant) big turbo and manifold etc should probably put my back to 1260 then fuel onto of that.

i recommend steve to anybody as he is a genuine nice guy who always has time for anybody and it passionate about what he does, plus i think he is interested in how this will turn out, if maybe a little scared at the prospect of what im gonna do with his engine.

Seems my power fc is still somewhere between japan and england so ill update this thread when it arrives, also gonna change my oil/filter at end of the month and get a compression test to see what numbers this new build gives me

well bit of a small random update today, since i got the apexi ecu ive just celotaped it to where my pocket pc is on the left hand side of the gearstick, this was just to monitor is on friday while i top up with fuel and let the ecu learn the idle.

The issue was that it was so far away from my line of sight that i had to take my eyes well away from the road to monitor it, now after really driving into a curb last night while watching my knock readings i decided its better to look for something to attach it to sooner rather than later.

Ill also need it for my top speed runs and i dont want to be looking away from the tarmac for that

So i theres the r magic power fc holder from japan but they are £50 and thats alot for just a piece of plastic, so i started looking at the commander and thought, well its the shape of a phone, why dont i just get a phone holder.

so i started searching the net for one, i found a few that attach to the windscreen but didnt fancy that as people might think its a sat nav and smash my car open when i go to tesco etc.

then i saw the ones that fit to your air vents, better i thought so i sat in the car and looked straight head to see if the vents were in my eye line, not quite.

so i looked at my dash, and thought where is the best place to put it, well i dont smoke and where the cigarette lighter would be good.

so i sat and made a little design on a scrap piece of paper and commited to making myself one during this week.

Anyway i was walking around tesco today and walked past the mobile phone part, decided to have a quick look and what do you know, they had the perfect thing.

Also as an added bonus they reduced them down from £6.84 to £1.99!!

So snapped it up and took it home.

first things first, cut of the little charger cable that i dont need.

where fag lighter is

attached commander to holder

plug into fag lighter and adjust height

check visability...seems good

turn lights on for night mode

a day full on win it seems.

anything that helps me stay in budget is a good day for me

good you got the pfc ok :)
bonus for cheap holder and extra bonus for the fd cig lighter being there lol

yeh i recieved it on friday, just like you promised, have to say to everyone that liam is a pleasure to do business with, always keeps you updated and is honest in what he gets for you, thumbs up!!

since i did get it on the friday i got to my car to the rolling road day to see how the engine was doing

for reference now the engine has done 900miles

running a very rich map(so power lost) running stock boost(10psi) i took some timing out aswell and it made 283bhp at 6900rpm.

This is 400rpm higher than stock and 30bhp more power, so at a very low boost running super rich(11:1 afr)

This shows that my ports are flowing well, id imagine with a bit of adjustment to the fueling and set the timing up better is probably another 20bhp could be gained, so thats 50bhp above stock at same boost

just need to do a compression test to check everything is bed in correctly and then start saving more money to start putting things together

Hi
Thought I might find a thread on this project on this forum so came for a look. Glad to see all is going well.

I\'ve got mine velcro\'d in front of the speedo with after 140mph hidden. Its well hidden in the car and I don\'t need to look anywhere but down at the speedo.

im actually gonna use that for when i do my runs as it reads the highests values of everything so ill be able to see what my logged top speed is off my power fc, im thinking that ill need to pull about 205-206mph on there for it to be 200mph in real life, might make it easier than watching the speedo go off the clock lol
