ok here is my dilema, i had a hole in my battery and it wasnt holding any charge so i have replaced it with a new battery and this is where the problems start lol i connect both terminals and my alarm goes insane and i keep pressing the key fob but it doesnt cancel the alarm so it keeps going off (bearing in mind i did this at half 12 at night lol) does anyone know how to stop it?

the alarm is a cliford concept 50x on an fd and the key fob worked fine before the battery died,

any sugestions will be much appreciated

Cheers

Just a thought, do you have a switch inside the car, hiden, the reason i ask is that the car thinks someone is trying to be smart and disconect the power to trick the alarm.

so it shoul dhave osme form of reset

Skifledanabit

The alarm needs resetting, no idea howto do this tbh, I had the same problem with my immobiliser, had to rip it out, obviously you don\'t want to do that with your alarm... ask an alarm installer

you should of got a manual with your alarm it will have a code in it its a sequence you have to push the 2 buttons in the car... but not sure how much it will help, i think if you press the 2 left buttons on the fob if you have the 4 button fob it will do the same.

ask batman on here he is an alarm installer

Archbish

TO give you a bit of time, if the siren part of the alarm is put in facing upwards, fill it with water before connecting the battery.  It won\'t stop the alarm going off, but it will silence it to such a degree that you\'ll only just be able to hear it.  That\'ll give you time to press all the buttons you have available to you and see if you can reset it...

Outside of that, do a search for instructions online???

batman

on your key fob you should have four buttons try pressing different combinations of two buttons at the same time this will put a clifford into valet mode allowing you to open doors and mess around without setting or arming the alarm .
next time you use the ignition the valet mode will cancell
when you have the right buttons the alarm light will stay on constantly not flash

Bone

First of all, apologies in advance if I\'ve got the wrong end of the stick.

When connecting the earth terminal to your battery, you need to press the plunger down on your alarm system after you\'ve connected the battery and whilst holding the plunger down, press the "open" button on your alarm fob to disable the alarm and immobiliser.

Holding the plunger down is telling the car that the bonnet is shut (all doors, etc should be shut as well) and that its safe to turn the alarm off.

The plunger is just a metal pin and will probably be located around the outside edge of the engine bay, somewhere where the bonnet will be able to compress it when closed.

Hope that helps.
