After 5 weeks of riding around in my trusty bicycle i have been reunited with my RX !

Full rebuild along with street port, de-cat, apexi induction kit and power FC.

All carried out by Hayward Rotary and what a nice bunch they are..

I went up there the day they pulled my engine to watch it come out and ask lots of questions, they explained everything they were doing and even made me tea !

Picked me up from the station and dropped me off again, then when it was time to come up to pick up the car again they picked me up from the station.

Also, i needed a few more parts, namely a clutch and a turbo pack which Carl very kindly sourced for me at a very reasonable price and duly installed.

Carl also swapped me a front end for my knackered front end, personally i think he\'s bonkers as mine was in a right state but he seemed fairly keen on it so i\'m glad he\'s happy, saved me a good few quid for an original Mazda nose cone, now all i have to do is paint it !

All in all an excellent service, sound bunch of guys and the highest recommendation from me...

Thank you for everything you have done for my car...

So now i\'m driving round like a granny for a 1000 miles till the engine is run in but as soon as thats done the fun begins !

Sounds like excellent service from the Hayward team, hearing more and more news of their great service at the moment, good stuff!
Sounds like you need some good music and a nice stretch of motorway to plod along, you can do 800 in a few days easy that way.

bit of an odd ball question, how does it feel like to drive runing it in for the first few hundred miles, can you feel it holding back feeling abit tight, like on a piston engine, or does it drive the same??

mark-ashley

Everything feels a lot more solid, it also feels like it wants to hurtle down the road at break neck speed, praise the lord for rev limiters !

I picked my car up from Carl\'s last week after it had been there for a month or so.

They specially made parts for my clutch and mapped it. When I picked it up, I went out with Carl to make sure I was happy with it. I cannot praise the service highly enough at Haywards, they are awesome.

The map itself is fantastic too, I absolutely love my car again (when it was in bits last winter I had a serious grump on). Admitedly it took me 2 years to go and have a proper map on it after they rebuilt it...

grant monkhouse writing here. carl rebuilt my engine, in which my dad did the porting, once i ran the engine and carl mapped the car i was terrified when steve garbott took me out in it to show me how i should drive it. even though i have a rather large extended port running the standard turbos the performance is amazing. however i want more. when funds are available i will be getting a huge turbo, and will get carl to map it for me again. have you run the car in yet?
