***TRACKDAY OULTON PARK 27th November***

Ok, for you fellow trackday junkies out there in need of a fix before the end of the year, how about Oulton Park on Friday 27 November? I know it\'s a bit far for the usual "southern contingent", and would require an overnight stop, but I\'ve always hankered over a trackday there. It\'s reputed to be one of the most picturesque tracks in the UK (and I thought Cadwell was good!)

Again, as with those of you who went to Cadwell Park and Bedford Autodrome with me earlier this year, this event is being organised by those nice people at MazdaOnTrack. This means a friendly bunch of people, and a well organised event, and lots of lovely MX-5\'s to play with, some of which are seriously quick "trackday specials"!

This is a full day event, and the costs are likely to be around the £119 for the trackday itself; then add petrol, possible o/night, insurance, etc.....

Noise limit is 105DbA, static test, so shouldn\'t be too onerous for those of you with noisy backends :Giggle

Oh man. Let me check the the money situation. Would be great to do a track day at Oulton and at that price its a steal. Cadwell has given me the bug!

I\'d be up for it possibly. Might be a bit wet/icy in November that\'s my only concern (plus few bits need doing to car)

Note also I\'ve put up a separate thread re Brands Hatch on 4 December. There is some concern that late November at Oulton might be risky with the weather? Wouldn\'t know as I\'m cossetted down here in the Essex Riveria :Giggle

I\'ll run with both threads to see what the interest is in both. I have a problem with 4 Dec at the mo, so 27 Nov is better. However, if I can clear my diary for the 4th, I think I\'d rather do BH and leave Oulton to the Spring/Summer when weather and light is likely to be better. I\'m very keen to do Oulton, but would prefer BH at this time of the year.

I don\'t mind "managing" both threads for the time being, and if enough interest in both then we\'ll run with both.

MazdaOnTrack have confirmed they are (very generously) waiving the non-MoT member fee, so prices are £119 for Oulton, £105 for BH. Both full days, and that\'s before any contribution that the MRC might offer - I\'ve PM\'s Clive n Lisa to see if there is any money in the kitty.......

I think the noise level for both is 105DbA (Oulton certainly is), unless anyone knows any different....

Ooh I\'m interested in this, teaming up with MoT seems to work well. Still haven\'t sorted that coolant pipe though and would need to check the old finances. Good chance this will be damp imo but that sounds like a laugh to me! Props to Casey for his dedication to the track day cause

Well the good news is I may have fixed my coolant issues, the bad news is I don\'t think I\'ll be able to make this. If its re-organised for spring/summer next year though I should be fine

Oulton Park in November! chances are it will be very wet well 99% chance I only live about 20min away so if it happens I might pop down and watch the fun.

OK, been thinking about this one :yes and have decided I\'m going to opt for the Brands Hatch day on 4 Dec, in the hope of better weather "down sarth" See the parallel thread I\'ve posted re 4 Dec BH.

I definately want to go to Oulton Park, but would prefer a Spring or Summer date, so those of you who want to wait until 2010 can join me then.

However, if any FULL MRC members still wants to go on 27 Nov, just post up here (or PM me) and I\'ll pass on the discount code.

Any guest members on here that want to go on 27th Nov can simply book direct via the MoT website (link at start of this thread). I\'ve been to several MoT organised trackdays and I can highly recommend then for being well organised, with a friendly bunch of drivers. Many of them go to several events a year, so a nice "Club" atmosphere - so much better than turning up to an open "public" trackday event IMHO.

I\'m happy to keep this thread going so anyone who wants to go on 24th can express their interest. Happy to deal with any questions as well.
