Hi guys a little update, fitted some feed over arches and 315,30,18 Yokohama tyres on 12" rear rotas . Had it polished while they were doing the paint ( thanks twin and Keith ), smoothed and powder coated the rocker covers to tidy the bay a little , booked in or another dyno session at the end of April ( if the new drive shafts get here in time from the states) .

Covered in awesome sauce, even without rotary.

Ya, that engine looks awesome. :)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

relly nice build, even though im a rotary purist :)

How the hell can that engine bay survive the heat from the exhaust pipes? Why not cera-coat the exhaust and turbohousings, and goldsheet-cover stuff? :)

tinker-27

It seems ok with the heat so far , the turbos get some air flow over them at the front , as they are not tucked down the side . I did look at zircoat but it was so much money I thought I would see how it goes, even the paint on the underside of the bonnet is still ok !!

Awesome build you\'ve done there! The power is crazy!

Where did you get the Feed fenders?

tinker-27

I was given them buy one of my customers !! ( he donated them for free), Ifty does very good copy\'s

Steve-x-edge

I shall have to get in contact with him I require front a back!

Just spotted you\'ve fitted 12" rears with the fenders, thats just immense. Love it!

What offset are you running with them?

Also, I can\'t find the guy who does the fenders.. do you have a link?

tinker-27

He is ifty on here if you can\'t track him down let me know and I will try to contact him for you

Tinker, I\'m seriously in love, that FD you have built is just amazing! I remember talking to you on driftworks. I have a Tech2motorsports JZ swap kit to fit my 2JZ in to my FD. It is a low cost build in comparison to that crazy motor you have built! I am just waiting for Tuning Developments Warrington to finish off refreshing my ex-Aristo JZ lump... I can\'t wait now after reading this! Still not 100% on which single turbo set up I\'m going for. If a GT3582R with standard cams will make the car go as I want it to I\'ll be happy! Have you done any previous FD\'s with this set up? I hope I get to see some more pictures of yours or in the flesh one day soon...

Hi , I\'m not a expert on turbo sizing I have done some work on 2jz motors with singles on then one which uses the std two exhaust manifolds and a y pipe to the turbo which works very well , the GT35 I run are a good fit on them mine have 1.06 exhaust housing but it all depends on what spec your motor is . A few guys are running truck turbos with very good results and they are cheap , my drive shafts should be here from the states soon so it will be back on the road I hope . How far along the build are you ?

Not very far to be honest! The main reason things have taken me so long is the near 8 month wait I had to take delivery of my 2JZGTE from Japan. After months of waiting and waiting I managed to find a full Aristo for sale for only £1250, so I cancelled my order and got a full refund.
I\'ve stripped the Aristo, bought an R154 box, and I\'m now waiting for Tuning Developments Warrington to finish off my partial rebuild. I want the engine running perfect to push the 550hp near 550ftlb I\'m looking for. They are rebuilding the cylinder head including valve stem oil seals, ARP bolts and new head gasket. New oil pump, sump swap (from front to mid) new shells and crank polish.
Fortunately while waiting for my \'imported engine\' I managed to find someone in the UK selling a full Tech 2 Motorsports JZ swap kit he imported from the USA. I bought the full kit including the carbon bonnet needed to clear the 2J without the need to touch the rack. The kit comes with everything, prop, mounts, subframe etc.
I have 90% decided on my turbo manifold even though i keep looking at the old GT40 set up Driftworks had on their S15, but don\'t want to push my R154 or anything else for that matter too far!

The turbo I am very close to buying is the billet Borg Warner Batmowheel S362 from Whifbitz. Main reasons I want better top end that a GT3582R can\'t flow and the graphs I have seen for GT35R with 1.06a/r just don\'t look responsive enough for what I would gains top end for a \'small\' T61 sized turbo on a 2J. Would probably make more sense going GT40 in this case but like I said at a price (extra parts needed and things going bang!)
I\'ll post the graph up at some point tinker just to show you why I think it could be the perfect street set up for mine. It\'s really impressive on standard cams and the graph shown is the earlier non-billet S362!
