Thought I\'d post some (all right, then, bleeding loads :Giggle) of pics from today\'s Festival of Speed up in case anyone wants to have a look.

WARNING....non-rotary content, but if you\'re on this site you\'re enough of a ptrolhead to appreciate the beauty of the cars (and bikes) shown off at this awsome event :D.

Sadly, a very poor showing from Mazda this year, despite being one of the title sponsors again. They had a "trade" dealer stand as usual, but not a single entrant in any class, not even any Lola built cars. Not a whiff of the 787B, except on some posters in their hospitality. No Furai, no concepts, bugger all. Must try harder .....

We\'ll start with something everyone should know, ease you in gently...

(this is the only time it\'s acceptable to have a blue car with 555 logos, when your name was R. Burns and you had a hooring great carbon snorkel stuck through the bonnet :Giggle)

Carbon Aston intake setup, mmmm

Fennsport Celica..

Well-used "Gazoo Racing" Lexus

40 years of Porsche 917\'s celebrated this year...

Iconic colours, sport was soooo much better in gaspers livery :Giggle

"New" Evo X making the new Imprezza look pretty p*** poor

Brett Castle\'s Datsun on the Toyo stand

Laydeeeees :D....nowhere near enough of this sorta thing going on imho

Nik da Greek

Mad but lovely AutoUnion streamliner thing..

...and proper man\'s racers, the widowmaking AutoUnion Type D...an aeroplane engine nailed to a handmade ally shell with a drum-braked bicycle wheel at each corner...and the best part of 200 mph

75 years of the Mercedes "silver arrows"...the Mercedes-Benz M196 streamliner

Moving on just a wee bit... the Audi R10 TDI LeMans car in a few details...

(think Audi have nicked my sidelight design there):rollin

Bentley LeMans winning Speed Eight...shame it was only a leased Audi underneath

Barry Sheene still living the life from the Other Side...still smoking too! This is his bike in a haze of Castrol R (ask yer dad!)

Irish racing legend Tommy Robb, still an absolute superstar at about eighty something and having what appeared to be his missus pose on the bike . How\'d he do that, then...must be the luck of the Irish :mmmm

Nik da Greek

Ducati Desmoseidici MotoGP bike

And the Kawasaki ZXRR MotoGP Tamada bike

hmmm, loud!

Fat, sorry, fast Freddie Spencers HRC racer

Michael Dunlop\'s new prototype Norton twin rotor NRV588 ROTARY!

My bike :D OK, OK, so it was "Lucky" Luccineli\'s Ducati, but he nicked my nickname, honest

Excellent advice on the Phase One Endurance championship bike

The Goodwood House lawn ornament sculpture...

Nik da Greek

The Peugeot 908 LeMans diseasel....

How about this for a brake set-up...on the rear!:eek

100 years  of Bugatti. Why can\'t they make cars this beautiful nowadays? The Type 57T Tourer

George Harrison\'s "Tantric" Guru-inspired Mini

The "Captain America" and "Billy" bikes out of the classic movie Easy Rider

You think you spend a lot of time "detailing"? Try this for size

The simply insane one-off Hispano Suiza...check those rims!

Maserati Ghibli Spider

Fezza Daytona 365 GTS/4

Lalique crystal Roller mascot

Chris Evans provided his collection of Ferraris, all repainted white in aid of Save the Children, I believe the cahrity was, which is testament to the guy. I guess he\'s knocked a few grand off their value, but I rather liked the look tbh

Awesome shots - shame i had to miss this year - even had a free ticket for the friday, but had to work as have blagged next Saturday of instead! :D:D and been pretty much each year for last 5.
I heard that Mazda had lots of cows outside their show stand ?!?! whats the deal with that?? did you see this too?

Nik da Greek

This one\'s for Adam...the only one Evans didn\'t repaint, because it\'d have been like painting in eyebrows on the Mona Lisa...the California :god

A whole paddock of Mercedes McLaren SLRs of various sorts, Black, 722, 722"S" Cab, Stirling Moss Limited Edition...

(loving those flyscreens on the Stirling Moss edition, nice, on a 200mph car :D)

Focus RS sounded like a mad animal with farting and banging (presumably anti-lag? Dunno) sounded great, looked foul :Giggle

Supercharged Monaro VXR thing

Aston DBS carbon diffuser...want one for my FD

The new GTR-35 spec-V Edition....

And the new 370Z in the most hideous colour Nissan could find at the back of the shed! :3Confused

Nik da Greek

Mad Tramontana concept thingy, all carbon, all insane, but you would, really

The new Fezza California...tbh nowhere near the original, but ok if you like that sorta thing. Rather natty carbon ceramic brake setup, though

The New Alfa Romeo BC, this one\'s the Spider, also with an immense brake setup :eek

Evil mad baby-eating Caparo T1...look out, it\'ll have your legs off. Or catch fire. Or blow up :D

Couldn\'t get near the last ever Murcielago, the 670 Super Veloce, too many proles clambering all over it. Couple of detail shots though

Koenigsegg CCX-R actually looked quite sensible from some angles, in this sorta company

Proudly displaying its Mazda RX-7 FD rear reflector/reversing light units :D

Veyrons seem a bit passe nowadays, place was stuffed with them :Giggle Mind you, you know you\'ve "arrived" when you can send your entire Veyron away to be chromed

Nik da Greek

RUF CTR3 Porker, nice in primer grey for all you Stuttgart afficianados

New Audi R8 V10 engined car (errr, wouldn\'t that be an R10 then? :3Confused Dunno. Never understood Audi\'s nomenclature)

Ooooh, more carbon!

Rather less nice is the new four-door Porsche Panamera 4S. It just looks wrong, stop it now, Porsche before you embarass youselves

Ginetta G50 prototype currently clearing off in the British GT championship as a wild card test car

Merc CLK Black for the well-heeled hooligan-about-town

Nik da Greek

Finally, a few random odds and sods...

Ferrari "bread van" 250 GT SWB

And a proper 250 GTO

How much for the plate, then

Rally Capri RS!

Evil Aston V8

Original AC Cobra autographed by Carrol Shelby and currently valued at a cool million

Alan Moffat\'s Mustang Boss 302, very very cool car if you know your Yank Tanks

And some random NASCAR things, which made by far one of the best noises of the day (in lieu of a racing rotary, give me a big fat V8, thanks) and far and away the best rolling burnouts :D

And finally, the only way a rotor-head could get a fix this year, and no bad thing, another of Michael Dunlop\'s lovely new prototype Norton NRV 588 rotary, and the original (and still most beautiful race bike ever made) Trevor Nation\'s JPS Norton

Glad you like the pics, dude, and yeah...next Saturday\'s more important :D. Yes, Mazda did have a couple of life-sized cow statues outside their stand. And no, I couldn\'t tell you why or WTF they were all about for the life of me. Very odd, it was like visiting Milton Keynes :rollin

chrisJDM

mmmmmmm some awesome cars, really wish i could have gone, will have to try and make it next year

L18M

tho the bread van looks more like postman pat van on steroids lol
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

Ada7

Really wish i\'d gone now :o
The Auto Union cars are just a work of art and you know how i feel about the Ferrari California... its like a sneeze, only better :p
I saw an Alfa 8C last night on the road and nearly crashed into the barrier from straining my neck round. Beautiful looking car.
I think the 250GTO with the same plate was there the year i went and there was another in a horrible limey green colour too.
Glad you had a good day out. Will deffinately have to make it next year. :D
