Hi Guys after my belt snapping on me a couple days back, I need of a dual belt alt pulley for the rex, iv found plenty of places in the us, $44 from mazdatrix, and other places sell the whole kits for like $249.
i just need the pulley, And i\'ve left my details with WGT dev. and they should get back 2me sometime 2day and i think thats about £40, not 100% sure.
Are there any other places that you guys would suggest??

Cheers Greg

there\'s this website http://www.upgrademotoring.com/performance/mr_alternatorpully.htm

but basically same price as mazdatrix and again from america.

The mini fan belts, would that be the classic mini or the modern one?

i think its something like the 1964 mini

Went to find some this last Sunday, as I pulled at a lose thread and a little bit of belt came away all around.  Halfords belt is HB 787a for the 2nd Gen, but he only had 2 left and they didn\'t match (not same batch) and were about 2mm different in deflection.   If you go the dual pulley route - the belts will have to be fairly close.

motormania is where i got them, they are a Gates auto master part with 6271mc and avx10 x 838La on the card that\'s it.

The pulley is on, but it\'s only got the one belt on at the mo.
Was quite a easy task, pulled the alternator off, got a big self tightening pipe wrench wrapped a old shirt round the pulley and un did the nut! and did the same for installing!

I ordered the pulley on friday morn and it came by 12 sat! was well happy! just got the wrong belts!! so 2morrow all should be ok & fully working!

Someone should put this info into the interchangable items thread. Good to know the numbers I\'ll be needing them soon.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

So iv got my belts...!
I went to motormania last night and picked up the belts, they were both different brands even tho on the computer it said they\'re the same brand! one was a goodyear and the other was an fia! which apartently are excatly the same belt!! which i said umm no they seem to be different, the quality isn\'t the same and one seems wider!
"No mate they\'re both the same they get made in the same factory they just have different packaging!!" i said that doesn\'t mean they are the same!! after about 10 mins of umming and arr\'ing, im not sure u know they look different to me!! i gave in, and said, ok ok i\'ll try them!!
So i get home plop the belts on, pull the alternator tight!!, ohh and what a surprise they aren\'t the same!! with one tight the other is a little looser!!
All i wanted was the same belt and brand!!
I hate them!! i\'m goin back tonight and will show them on the car!!
Whatever happen to the customers always right? i told them they are goin on a dual pulley and need to be the same!! damn slacker yawed \'ocals!
