HI GUYS,

Still new to the rotary scene and was looking some engine specs the other day and it dawned on me that i don\'t accurally know what limits the rev/red line of the engines.
Is it something to do with the porting, apex seals used or just simply the mapping of the ECU???:3Confused

limit is set by the ECU and if its aftermarket this can be changed
There are performance cars and then there is the RX-7...........

12.3 second 1/4 mile, terminal speed of 122mph (1st ever drag run on a TO4R)

engine built by....... umm me! now powered by a T51 Kai......

Limitations are based on the forces generated at high RPM\'s.  Lightweight rotors, correctly balanced with harder ring gears can run faster RPM\'s.  Bigger ports tend to start producing real power at high RPM.

Lot more to it than that, (like clearancing etc) but I\'m not really awake enough yet.
