Hmmmm
To condense all of the above.
I think a fixer upper should be £500 > £1000 & they seem to be attaining these figures.
A1 cars are no where near attaining their true value, based on the amount you\'d have to spend to get an A1 car, they should be selling for £2.5>£4.5k depending on mileage & condition.

So again as said before this is why so many salvageable 1st gens are being scrapped at present, as it\'s simply not financially worth spending £1000\'s on them,it\'s very unlikely the owners would get back their expenditure.

We used to call it \'Hearing Aid Beige\', back in the \'70\'s.

There was also \'Corset Pink\', an oyster gold sort of colour used by Fiat.

Jut to let folks on this thread know that the recently formed "Rotary Preservation Mob" (RPM) are looking into the possibility of "saving" one of the cars recently posted up on here. We were recently prompted to form the RPM when a 1st Gen in Scotland was under threat of being broken up for spares. Before we had to intervene, "Clarky" stepped up to mark to save the car, but we decided the RPM should remain alert, and on standby, to intervene at any time.

There are 4 mobsters at the moment who are willing to step in to buy a 1st Gen that is not selling in the open market, and may be at risk of being unloved or, worst still, being broken up :reallymad

The mobsters already own rotary cars of a more modern vintage, but have a hankering after providing a good home for an unwanted, unloved, classic car.

We\'ve no idea what we are doing (these cars are a little different to our current models, but with the same heart!), but I\'m sure with the help of the great MRC membership we can ensure continued survival of another one of these lovely cars.

We will ensure the vehicle is looked after in a caring environment :InLove

Hi Casey and many welcomes.....could have saved you a lot of typing.....I would guess most of the 1st Gen regulars picked up the forming of the RPM society in the last few days.....we\'re cool cookies on here mate, average age about 73, don\'t miss much.

Seriously, I\'m sure we will all be very pleased to help in any way possible.

I\'m sure as well you do know what you\'re doing........
But if however you want some brilliant threads in the 1st Gen Section, which show what you might have to deal with, then Cliff\'s (CHC) posts about restoring \'Jaz\' then starting on \'Goldie\' and Steve\'s post (Steve-A) about working on \'Rexanne\' are brilliant. Then there is the UberRestorer\'s technical article.......that\'s Ian (Ian65) ; his work is mind blowing.......Shout if you can\'t find anything.

I\'ve not mentioned Keith, Gary, Marc, Ramon, Paul and Stu and others (who\'ve I missed?) in here but I\'m sure all the 1st Gen files will be opened to you. I am a doddering old street runner myself, not got an ounce of Resto left in me but I do fancy myself as the 1st Gen keeper of records.
On that note I still have most contact details tucked away of cars in this thread so perhaps you like to give me a shout should anything take your fancy? I don\'t think a lot of cars have sold recently so there are quite a few still in the ether waiting for buyers.

I think the 1st gen prices will rise with age, it just needs to get a little bit older.

In the short term something to raise its profile for the tuners market would make prices shoot up. Something to make the sort of people that buy a s13, AE86, mk3 supra, etc want one. Like if one of the big shops or magazines built one up as a time attack car or drift car or whatever. Make some pictures that people will want as desktop background on their computers, then watch the prices jump.

For the next couple of months its cool with me if the prices stay low and I can possibly pick one up for £500 or so with MOT :P

David, thanks for the feedback!

73; thankyou, I feel positively young now  :). I\'m 50, plus some odd extra years, but I tend not to remember how many, due to memory loss..... but I\'m not the oldest, or youngest RPM member!

The RPM are currently PM\'ing ideas on the cars we\'ve seen up for sale, but help from you experienced 1st Gen lot will be invaluable once we proceed :god

We aren\'t in a rush, we\'d like to get the "right one" at the "right price", that would otherwise not find a loving home....
