Quote from: David Nock;654801I\'m fairly sure the owner hasn\'t fitted LSD Davide. An engine rebuild with porting and carburetor/ fueling modifications mainly. The TWR kit looks nice.

Was it at rotorstock. It sounded awesome in the flesh !

Quote from: rei99;654804Hi David! All fine? :D
Yes, reading well the mod is just the engine, the price maybe could be better... But what aa sound! If it was a 86, could be a 84/85 drivetrain, so I could put a bigger USA LSD of the same year right?
I hope always to find the light blue USA with a/c and moonroof I saw times ago on Ebay :D

All fine indeed my friend,

Car is a Series 3 1st Generation Davide, Registered 1986, same series (exactly same model) as the 1984/1985 registered cars. So yes, as far as I know you can use the USA LSD in it. Was the later USA car that had LSD called a GLS-SE?

As you know there was no Air Con in the UK cars, (though there is a dashboard button marked \'Air Con\', which is not connected to anything. All S3 UK cars had this button)!

Kind Regards  David

I think it might have been Shaun. There is no proper pic of it at Rotorstock 6 but there is the back of an S3 of the right colour just showing in 1 shot. That car has a TWR kit with stock wheels which makes me think it is the same car.

:wave very happy to read all fine.
So the propeller shaft is the bigger, and the buyer could put the LSD of the GSL (12A engine) and GSL-SE (13B engine) USA model...
If he lower a little the price, I could take it, but with the idle so high (2.000rpm) the first "MOT" in Italy to have the plates will be difficult I think... Will be better had it like "hystoric car" already in UK for me.
But what a engine... I\'m very sad, here in Italy no one could/want put hands on rotary at so low price (I\'ve read 750£ in the other topic) :(

It\'s a strange thing that Mazda decided to fit the air -con button to the last of the UK 1st gens when the cars weren\'t equiped with air-con
Not all UK series 3 cars had this button fitted.
My 1984 \'A\' reg series 3 didn\'t, neither did my mates who had exactly the same model and year.

I can only assume that early series 3\'s used up the remaining stock of non air-con fan switches and then Mazda just fitted whatever stock they had left to the remaining UK cars to the end of the production run, these seemingly being the air-con version

I wonder if the loom is factory wired for air-con as well, which would make it simpler to retro fit air conditioning if required or if it\'s just the switch.

Had some very disturbing news from my insurance today. Will start a new thread If I can\'t resolve the issue (and try and make sense of it). Seems even though I have had the FB for 3yrs with the same company they haven\'t been putting a NCB on my policy of which I had full NCB before moving. After 2yrs the other document stating my NCB is null and void and I\'ve lost ALL my NCB.

Not a happy bunny, feels like a scam to keep my buisness.

Can anybody make sense of it ?

Are you on a classic car policy Shaun because many classic car policies don\'t accumulate no claims.
The classic policies that I\'ve had don\'t take ncd into account when calculating the premium but then, don\'t give any ncd either.

shaunwil

What I don\'t get is it doesn\'t say anywhere in my paperwork that they wouldn\'t continue NCB. Fine as I already had maximum so didn\'t need to acrew any more, not that I would have the car for 2yrs then get screwed over !

How the hell can I loose 8yrs of driving overnight ?? Don\'t understand at all !

Ian65

Ask them for a letter confirming that during the period that you\'ve had the car insured with them, you\'ve never made a claim or incurred a loss on the policies.
If you then put this with your previous proof of no claims, it should get you sorted with a new company, that\'s what I did.

shaunwil

The problem is Houghton has told me that is not enough proof for the new underwriter.

Sounds right! Good factory engineering that. I don\'t think the loom is wired but never checked.
