Hi,
Am putting a twin turbo (FD3) engine into my 1983 Elford SA22, have assembled most parts, engine, gearbox, exhaust, E.C.U,  radiator, etc has anyone out there as well as Tim at RX Motors done this?
Cheers

I have a turbo II in my Elford Series 3, Tim built one about 10 years ago if not more. I think it was for a guy in London called Jimmy.

Dont know what happened to the car, it was red iirc.

Lets see some pictures of your project then.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

do you still have the elford kit?

Hi fellas. I wouldn\'t half mind some detail on your cars for a register of surviving UK 1st Gens I\'m compiling. You might have seen what I\'ve been posting. There\'s no sensitive information being posted out on the forum but I would like to get my own record as accurate as possible.
If you agree, would you let me have Reg No\'s, Year, Colour of cars and Town?
I don\'t think you can PM so my e mail is dgnock at btopenworld dot com.

Yes, still have all Elford Turbo original equipment, have owned car for 15 years, expected prices to go up, however they have not so may as well build a special and have some fun.
In reply to David i have several, I built the car that Stacey Vickers is pedalling around now albeit like Triggers broom (three new heads and two handles) am going to remove  12a elford unit shortly to fit 13b-rew, should be good!

What Colours Mate? Who\'s Stacey? haven\'t come across her in 1st Gen section, which is where I live mostly.
My dad used to use the 3 new heads and 2 handles one, but he said it was about a genuine stone age axe - only 3 new heads...........etc.

I sincerely hope you have not come across Stacey, for she is a he, racing the orange RX7 in classic touring cars, it was white with blue "viper" stripes when I had it.
Would like to sell all my 12a stuff together if possible, have the Elford engine with gearbox from car, had it running today, a spare engine, two spare gearboxes open to offers for the lot.

It lives at pips now when it isn\'t being raced !

Are you sure the REW engine will fit pass the steering box with the twin turbos connected ??

Welcome aboard ! Been think about a rew single turbo in the FB if I ever go bigger with the FD because I would need a ported engine !

ballpark sum for the 12a kit?

Northfalia

The engine in the car is very good, less than 8,000 miles on a Tim White re-build, has a stainless steel sump baffle and mazdaspeed lightend flywheel, the turbo and ancilliarys are all excellent, the spare engine has all good housings and is all complete, would be a go-er with just a gasket/O-ring set, one gearbox is good other unknown, the whole lot must be worth £600?

jim pratt

i can go to 550,i know its a bit less, but im soon to be out of a job(temp contract at catapillar!)

Northfalia

That will be O.K. where are you?  when do you need it taking out, can we P.M. on this forum?

jim pratt

I am in north shropshire.there is no rush to take it out ,do it to suit yourself. Not sure about the P.M.s,you can email me on mainepratt@aol>com
