no views on the graphs?? i really dont know what im looking for lol

anyway, as pip recommended i bought a new boost controller from charlieP so set about fitting that this morning.

back into the garage, well attemped to, far too much junk in there at the moment :rollin

out with the old, pip also mentioned that the braided lines to the wastegate are too small so took them off as well to take to pirtec to make some new one up.

but while i was at it, feeding wires through to the bay for the solenoid i decided to tidy this lot up a bit as well

much better

also decided to tidy the wiring for the gauges on the passengers side as well

then made a little bracket to hold the solenoid secure

and ive also got the sump brace to fit thanks to danny to try and cure my oil leak

a few new decals :Giggle

Need to see the AFR line graph as well to properly comment, hopefully the new boost controller will fix the late spooling of the turbo. As it should be coming in a lot earlier then that.

So did it make 448 at the fly?

Go for 6mm line and it will smooth out lovely. I had to swap from 4mm to get better control on a Tial 44mm wastegate !

for some reason i didnt get one so unable to put it up bud, it spools sooo much faster now than before, if the boost controller doesnt sort it then what else could it be??

yeh, 448fly but it was only the 2nd or 3rd run, had to stop because it was leaning out no matter how much more fuel he added.

yeh the lines are getting made up tomorrow hopefully, he also mentioned that it will help stop creep as well.

was looking at the wastegate the other day when i took the lines off, what does the threaded bar do, i mean, if i adjust it one way or another, what is the affect??

well i havent got my lines yet but thought i would do a bit of maintenance servicing. car wasnt held up with the jack either :rollin

first off was the fuel filter, sooo many people have said its such a pain in the ass, and yeh i have to agree but still managed to have it replaced in around 20 mins max :yes
was very dirty and partially blocked which wont be been helping anything.

then seeing as i was under there i decided to change the diff and gearbox oil.
diff oil was quick dirty as you can see, i dont know the history of this car so no clue as to how long it has been in there.

then turned the car around and back into the garage to do the gearbox. was surprising clean tbh
looking at where the filler is though, how on earth do people fill it back up, must use some sort of pump or something which i didnt have :3Confused

sooo inside the car and take the centre console out and feed a pipe down to the filler and put a funnel on the other end, problem solved :Thumbs-up  :Giggle

and back out of the cave  :wiggle

Star!!! Wish you had done the gearbox oil before I did mine! I had to mash the bottle into the gearbox cove to try and refill!

Which plugs do you unscrew on the diff? You got a pic? I think I remember seeing 3 plugs on mine, one low down (obv the drain), and then there\'s one half way up, and one at the top. Which one is the fill line? The middle one?

karl_tate

i dont have a pic but will get one for you. i dont remember there being 3 plugs though :p

thanks, yeh ive seen the car around.

well since changing the oil in the diff and gearbox i have been getting a clunking from the diff area as i set off, it can be very temperamental though. think im going to change the oil again, what should be in there?? i put castrol Syntrax Universal in

as i dont know what diff is in there i got the rear of the car up again for a bit more room to have a good look around. now when i turn one wheel the other turns and is impossible to hold one while the other turning. does this mean i have a 1.5 or 2 way diff or is this normal?? :o

while the car was up i decided to fit my feed type skirts that i have as well but i have the stock, optional sideskirts fitted too so wasnt quite sure how i was going to fit them.
anyway just basically used some bodyshop glue stuff and some large self tappers that i kept over from a previous project. i knew they would come in handy :rollin

and on :mmmm

What do you guys think about my diff situation? :p

i had a 2 way on my 200sx and you would know if you had one because they clonk and bang and the wheels skip on slow tight turns... plus on de accel if you shift down too quick its like yanking on a handbrake that actually works lol...

saying that im partly convinced my rx7 has some aftermarket diff in it because it locks up easy on a down shift and also pulling out of junctions the inside wheel will chirp or skip....

saying that rx7\'s have torsen diff\'s i think so that could be just how they act??

Take the diff cover off and take some pics then I can tell whats in there
