right i get the pop ups have h4 bulbs...

now is the main bulb a h4 and the high beam a seperate h4? or is it just one bulb in there?? havent had to much of a look... but my questions are because i want a hid kit on it... its one of the biggest things i miss about my 200 the lights on the rex are SHOCKING!! they are terrible! i drive with the lights on high beam the whole time and no one flashes me to tell me to turn them down, and on dipped beam its straight up dangerous!

so any help would be great :)

thanks in advance people :)

LMAO ye they are murder. An H4 is a double filament bulb i.e. one wire glows for dipped and another for main beam. Some HID kits have the hid dipped and a halogen main, others the hid part moves giving different beam patterns for hi low. I think the latter are better but im not sure as its on my to do list. maybe someone who has them will shed a bit of light. Noticed a huge difference in prices i would like to know how good or bad the ebay ones are.

i just had a read and look around and emailed a company... anyway it seems there is an h4-3 kit and a h4-4 kit...

differences the h4-3 kit has a hid bulb with a standard bulb built next to it dipped beam you have the hid on, when you flick to hi a shield slides and the normal bulb comes on...

the h4-4 kit has 2 hid bulbs, but they require 2 ballasts per side (the 2 ballasts are built in to one box per side of the car)

the h4-4 is gonna give the better results by the looks of things but costs more... from personal experience on my 200sx i had 10k hid\'s on dipped and i never ever used my high beams, the few times i flicked on to high beam it actually was worse to see than with the hid\'s they are that good....

Yup, compared to the 14 they\'re dire - although my 14a was terrible so anything\'s a bonus!
I had a HID kit on my FD, and to be honest, it was bobbins :( they don\'t seem to work that well on the FD\'s setup.I\'m now back to stock.

Friends of mine have had quite a lot of success with £40 kits from eBay - they certainly appeared no different from the ones our chum Bren has been selling ;) :)
For that price i\'d say it\'s worth a gamble :)
I\'ll be getting a set for my other half\'s DC2 - they\'re almost consumables at that price. A friend has a set on his Quattro and loves them.

LOL! do not get me started on the sx\'s favorite cheap "not Chinese" selling chum lol!!

like i said im gonna have a punt, see how it goes, would rather spend less on a cheap kit and work out they dont work to well than spend out on an expensive kit and find out the same thing lol! but tbh a candle with a plastic cup shielding it would be better than the sorry excuse the fd calls lights lol! i swear the sidelights give off better light lol!
