Guys, can anyone help me out.... I\'ve just got a spair set of rears for mine to play about with, but I want to open them up & obviously don\'t want to brake them!! I can see a few screws around the rear of the light unit, I take it it\'s just the case of unscrewing them & prising them open??

You\'ll need to heat them up to get the glue to soften enough to pull them apart. I used a hot air gun.

Dito, I also used a heat gun, went round the back edge of the light for about 10 mins, take your time, or you can bubble the plastic, I also know people have also put them in the oven but I didnt fancy trying that. on the first attempt it took some persuasion.

cheers

I preheated oven to 200 then put them in there for 3 mins they came apart really easily !!

Cool... but I have to undo the screws at the rear right??

rx7boy

Yeah other wise you would find it difficult to get it apart lol :chat:chat:chat

I\'ve done three sets of these now. You can use a hot air gun, but I find this a bit too localised and severe a heat. The last two sets I did just using a sink of really hot water and some Marigolds to protect my delicate pinkies lol. The water heats the glue mastic stuff evenly, and makes it a lot easier to prise them apart without cracking any plastics

Awsome....Cheers for the info people! here comes another little project ;)
Not doing the norm on these bad boys!!
