Work is dead at the moment, so I have been making some billet parts to allow 20B to fit in RX7 without changing sub. The engine remains behind steering rack and by using RX8 gearbox which is 100mm shorter, gear lever is in the same position. Still have to make some engine mounts and some tweaking of the transmission tunnel may be required to clear clutch lever. The changes mean oil pump will not fit, so this will need to external now.

QuoteSo are you dry sumping Kev?

Yes, that is the idea, but I could mount sump underneath and just run external oil pump without scavenging ports.

This still in the early days yet (plenty to go wrong). I have sent you a PM on FDUK with my day time phone number if you want to chat about it.

you really do have access to some good toys!  that is a very nice bit of machining.    Just out of interest,  did you \'need\' to do it or did you just want to?,  i cant see the difference between the original in relation to fitting.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

shaunwil

Won\'t it mean there isn\'t a sump in the way of the engine mountings ??

Without the oil pump to house, billet front cover is 40mm shorter. Which is the difference between engine being behind or on top of steering rack.

I have removed the 20B inserts and have some FD ones yet to fit.
