hi has any one used k sport brake calipers and discs if you have how do you find them thinking of buying a set for race set up, if not what would you recommend brake calliper why\'s or as  i am on a budget what would fit otherwise i have heard of people using a porsche front calipers :burnout

TonyC

Not sure on your budget but I race using Kad 6 pot\'s with a set of their bells and rotors, and DS3000 pads. They are excellent and fade free. Very effective. DS3000 pads are a bit dead feeling on the pedal though compared to hawk HT10\'s

my budget is about £700 what size are they you use and what size rims
is that via a pedal box , soz am i asking for all your secrets lol

If you go Porsche "big red" you have to have a custom fitting kit made up bud.  There is the odd thread on here from when Donato and others looked at it.

Dont think youd find them and get the fitting kit for your budget tho.

Will be difficult to find any new kits for that budget, maybe some used.

Discs are seperate bell and rotor, 355mm diameter (about 14"), under a 17" Rim - very close on caliper clearence. RX7 pedal box, servo disconnected, ABS removed, fluid bias adjustr valvel. If the rear brakes were bigger I\'d wind it back a bit on front bias.

i have driven a car on track with d2 front brakes and was quite surprised with them, i was on it on track for about 10 laps at a time with no fade ask ash whose car it was or big lawrence they both have 8 pot 356s i think

AshRX

yep as Jay said I get no brake fade at all and thats with giving them some abuse. They are based on K Sport anyway. Using a bigger master cylinder will help too

RobMatthews

is that the d2 brakes from new zealand?

HHHHUUUUUUUUUMMM MANY THANKS will delve deeper but may choose the k sport as the kit comes complete braided hoses and fliud
wha tsize brake master cylinder did you fit

AshRX

the K2 kit comes complete with braided hoses, brackets, calipers, discs and pads

I have a 929 cylinder going on.

Bucko

on another thought is it possible to upgrade the fronts to k sport then to fit what wa on the front to the back are the discs bigger on the back would there be a gain

joshrulz

why not use evo brembos and discs, theyre cheap enough these days, use them with a 1\'\' 929 master and some good pads with braided hoses and hi temp fluid.

ive done this swap on a fc, check my threads out

lockwood77

Saw your post on the other thread Josh, didn\'t realise they\'re Evo brembos - I have to say I found the Brembos on my Evo VI pretty rubbish considering the performance of the rest of the car and I\'m not sure the (very similar) Brembos on my DC5 Integra Type-R are the best brakes they could have found either (oddly the smaller Nissin OEM calipers on my DC2 seemed better!)

Bucko

i dont know anyone whom drives an evo to compare ,
see ya thread josh will have alook at some prices and see
