well got my tinting spray through the post today.

also got my 99 spec lights last week :D

went to take the rx8/lexus style light out and came out quite easy but then got  to the bulbs and oh look, silicone everywhere holding the bulb holders in, bloody crazy jap man :Hammer

anyway got them out and did a test with the spray and turned out ok

1st layer

2nd layer and getting a bit darker

bit of a comparison

decided to try it out on the 99 spec lights and decided to do a bit more of a covering for the 1st coat. (looks crap in the photo because its still a bit wet + flash)

i now have to decide which ones to put back in.

standard 99 spec
tinted 99 spec
rx8/lexus style (dont think i will anyway but still an option)

opinions please guys  :Thumbs-up

TOLD YOU IT WAS A GOOD IDEA! :rollin:rollin

Lol! I\'m kinda liking the Lexus style ones with the tinting, dude. But then I\'m biased! And I\'m also tasteless enough to like shopping lists down car doors, lol so probly best if you ignore my opinion! :Giggle

Does the spray go on the outside of the plastic covering or the inside?

How long does it last/how many coats?

Iv been all over ebay looking for tinting film for my rear lights, never thought about spray!

Mims

Karl can I have which ever set you dont use :D

Don\'t try using tinting film for your rear lights unless you\'ve the sort of patience you normally only read about in the Bible! The rear lights are too compound a curve for film, ie they curve north-south as well as east-west. You\'ll end up with more wrinkles in it than on my nan\'s arse!

You can get Foliatec tinting spray from Halfrauds RipSpeed, but they don\'t normally keep it on the shelves cos the Saxo boys nick it!

Kieron

You painted a set of late spec lights  :Grrr

The finish with that spray tint doesn\'t look good, Looks very blotchy and bitty like a silicone spray.

I\'m with Kieron above, Seems a shame to do it to a set of 99s.

AshRX

looks cool dude, shame you wont have the car on Sat or come down. Be nice to see it in the flesh

Karl do you have original pre 99 rear lights on at the mo? If so when you change them over can I buy the old ones from you?
