just curious about this one really...

how much would a stock FD drop in power over time (\'93 model, so 250hp from factory i guess)? i\'m going to put in an Apexi ECU in the near future and was wondering what else to do to get the best out of a map and bring the car back up to power. i\'m guessing new sparks at least?

is this after watching top gear last night?  lol
how long is a piece of string? totally depends on the engine.

usually just a service and a map will sort it out. most cars have more power than the book figure anyway just by adding a free flow cat and air filter.  my rx7 when i bought it was 12 years old and had 100hp more power than standard from minimal mods.

haha, 50hp from a service... the kids will be flocking to halfords!

to be fair, i\'d been thinking about this before seeing Clarkson and his sidekicks (honest!) as a 15 year old car with a complicated turbo system is bound to lose some power over the years. i\'m hoping an Apexi with a quick map will do the job, it had new injectors on a recent rebuild i think, so maybe some new plugs.

Hard to say really, perhaps from a 250hp - 230hp over time ???

I had mine roaded a while ago, the engine had probably done about 50k with just a cat back & an ARC induction box & she still hit 255 with a slipping clutch & reving to 6800rpm, so in theory you should only loose a few ponies!

You loose power as compression gets lower also, so a fresh engine is worth a good few ponies over a tired one.

When I bought mine (3 years ago), it had around 60-70K on the clock, is a 94, only mods were HKS exhaust and a set of filters....it was dynoed at 252bhp with a dodgy second turbo.
