I\'ve spent ages trying to get hold of some inner and outer track rods for my RX3 project,

I finally got some form Speedy Spares who offered excellent service but they don\'t fit! the tapered ends are too small. My car is a 1977 12a Jap version do these have different specs to early cars?

I managed to get a steering box/colume but i think the taper is too small on this aswell.

Anyone have a steering linkage for an early car for sale???

Thanks

Patrick

Hello Bob,

Good to hear your putting an RX-3 back on the road,

Either stick your chassis number up in here or mail me direct and I will see if I can find out some info for you.
All the best Clive

Hi Clive,

The chassis number is S124A-412684, i\'ve also noticed that it has what looks like electronic ignition rather than points. I can\'t find any manual listing an rx 3 with that? The car was partially restored in Japan so it may not even be the original engine set up.

HI RPM RX3

fitting an electronic ignition off an early model Rx7 (possibly series 2) onto the 12a was very popular.

Hi Bob,

I notice you are doing up a 12A RX-3 (S124A), I grew up with these cars as a Mazda Parts manager in Australia, if you are wanting any advice, re Spare Parts in Australia, or Genuine Part Numbers, I am happy to help you.

I also have an RX-3 Factory Parts manual, and lots of Part numbers still in my head.

As you probably know, almost all of the original "new" Mazda Factory parts are no longer available or made.

Mazda Australia had a huge warehouse full of new dead stock which was Auction Off in large lots about 8 years ago, there is a guy here who still sells some of the parts on eBay, but you need to be sure if they are for your model, many of the parts he is selling is not described correctly and is not for the model car he says they are.

There are many parts that are still available and are interchangeable with later and other Mazda models.

Let me know if I can be of assistance via a PM.

Hi Patrick,

The later model RX-3\'s and 808\'s did go to larger rod ends, from around 76\'ish, so all UK spec RX-3\'s would have been the smaller size. You may be able to source the larger size rod ends by asking for rod ends for a 77 or 78 808, which were available in this country.
