uk spec ecu?

Hi Again,
 
Noob q, live in Ireland car is an import.
 
fd auto so can not fit an aftermarket ecu. Is it worth fitting  a uk spec auto ecu so its mapped for correct fuel?
 
What is the pros and cons of doing this?
 
Safer but less power?
