yet another build by me.

Here is my new rx, well I\'ve had it for about 3 months now but just haven\'t had the time to work on it.

Bought it with a blown engine, water seals failure. striped it down the other day to find a mixed bag of results.
it has a full re-a exhaust system, os giken twin plate clutch, full hks t04r turbo kit which has done hardly any miles, khs fmic and and a few other bit and pieces.

The bad bit.
Due to the length of time the vehicle was stood with coolant in the chambers, it had corroded the rotors all the plates and the housings have had it, so now i am on the look out for plates, rotors and housings.
GREAT!!

Soooo thankful my plates didn\'t look like that when I took my engine to bits.. Good luck with the rebuild. Which one\'s this? your third?

I sooo want a Re-A dolphin exhaust :( On the best colour car too :p

karl_tate

looks a clean car.

what plans have you got for the engine??

how did you manage to get the engine out with the mounts still on the block?? mine were fowling the subframe and it wouldnt lift any higher up to free them.

Instead of trying to rebuild the current engine, perhaps be on the lookout for someone selling a pre-built engine, they do seem to come up quite a bit at costs around £2k

fowling the subframe? I can\'t see how myself.. Once i\'d undone the 2 bolts underneath, everything lifted right out

karl_tate

may be it was the angle i was lifting etc, not really sure but i had to take the mounts off the block and it popped straight out.

This is my 4th build so I would rather start a build. I can get everything I need for 1k so next week I will be off to collect my bits.

As modifications go it will be ported to a good street port.

No I didn’t have to take the engine mounts off to get the engine out, you have just got to jiggle it about.

I am a bit ****ed off because I wanted it ready for rotorstock but these things cant be helped, I will be down though having a butchers at all your motors.:Thumbs-up

When the engine is built the car will be up for sale, im looking for around 8k if anybody is interested?

karl_tate

1k for parts, they carnt be new

im on the look out for a knackered engine to strip down and learn so much more about them and do a little build my self :D

1k is that pretty much what you would expect to pay, for everything you\'ll need? You rebuilding and taking on all labour is where you\'d be saving the money?
