Help! Car wont boost :(

Took the Cosmo for a drive earlier and found that the car wont rev freely, I have to drive it very very gently and the minute I try and put my foot down the car just bogs down badly. Can any of the pipes or sensors come loose?

Also, when I rev it on idle it wont go past 4000 rpm and theres a lot of popping from the exhaust.

Anyone help???

check map sensor connections, plugs, leads etc the normal stuff
